This striking large bottle is wheel-thrown using a carefully balanced blend of porcelain and raku clay, specially developed to help withstand the intense thermal shock of the raku firing process.

The vessel is decorated with a copper wash and fired in a raku kiln before undergoing a further sawdust firing, creating a rich, organic surface with unique patterns, textures, and natural variations formed by the interaction of fire and smoke.

The neck is finished with polished terra sigillata, which naturally darkens during the sawdust firing process. It is then polished again to create a beautiful contrast between the smooth, refined neck and the expressive surface of the body.

Each bottle is entirely unique, showcasing the unpredictable beauty of traditional raku techniques. A statement piece of contemporary handmade ceramics, created for collectors and those who appreciate the artistry of fire, clay, and craftsmanship.
