This Bottle is wheel-thrown using a raku clay, created to help withstand the extreme thermal shock of the raku firing process.

The surface is decorated with a resist slip which peals off after being fired in a raku kiln then plunged and smoked in a sawdust bin, creating a rich, organic finish with unique patterns and natural variations formed by the interaction of fire and smoke.

The Bottle is finished with a polish that naturally enhances the smoke decoration on the burnished body of the pot, developing a soft sheen.

Each Moon Jar is completely unique, reflecting the unpredictable beauty of traditional raku techniques. A striking statement piece for collectors and lovers of contemporary handmade ceramics.
